23 Feb 2007 - Year 3 and 4 Newsletter
Dear Parents,
We hope that you enjoyed your extended half term holiday.
All of the children seem to
have had a really good time especially in the
snow!
This half term our science topic is solids, liquids and how they
can be separated. For
this topic, the children will be separating solids
using sieves, filtering and magnets.
However, we are short of sieves for the
children to use and would therefore be very
grateful if you could send in
any old sieves for use in this topic.
We will also be learning about
India in our geography work. Children will find out about
the country, its
people and the ways in which people live. If you have any pictures or
Indian
artefacts that you would like to share with the children, we would be pleased to
see these.
During our ICT lessons the children will be manipulating
sounds and looking at repeating
patterns. Good examples of repeating
patterns can be found on wrapping paper. If you
have any spare wrapping
paper at home please send this into school as it will really help
to show
the children how repeating patterns are used in real life.
Towards the
end of this half term the children will be completing a design and
technology day about money containers. More details will follow.
We
look forward to seeing you at the next parent?s consultation, however please
feel
free to see us before then if you have any pressing concerns.
Kind regards,
Jackie Roe Nick Perry Hayley Collins
