14th January, 2008
Dear Parents
Happy New Year! We hope you all had a lovely Christmas holiday. This
term, Miss Hutchinson’s class has a final year student from
Worcester University, Mr Skelton. She will be working closely with him
and we are sure the class will benefit from having 2 teachers!
Our topic this half term is Famous People throughout history. The
children will be finding out why people did things and what happened as
a result, and also making comparisons between ways of life at different
times. If you have anything of interest that relates to this topic,
please do encourage your child to bring it in to show.
The week beginning 28th January is our music week. We are hoping to
include famous musicians and music from the past, alongside all the
other exciting activities that are being planned.
Following music week our focus will change to the science topic of
healthy Living and we will be starting by looking at the basic needs of
humans and other animals.
In RE the children will be learning about different Jewish celebrations
with Ms Gilbert. They will have the opportunity to taste some
traditional Jewish food, so please let us know if your child has an
allergy to any food items. They will also be working with Mrs Lee and
Mrs Mitchell to complete another exciting art project.
Thank you to all of you who work so hard at home with reading and other
homework. It really does make a difference to your child’s
progress. Please do pop in if you have any queries or worries, we are
available most days after school.
Best wishes,
Janet Liddington Hannah Hutchinson
