Dear Parents,
Happy New Year to you all! We’re very glad to welcome the children back to another exciting term.
This half term, our work will mainly focus on the theme of the
Anglo-Saxons. The children will learn about the Saxon invasion and what
life was like in the Dark Ages. In our science work, we will be
exploring forces, especially those connected with magnets and springs.
As you may already know, in our ICT work we are looking at
communicating via the internet with a big focus on internet safety. The
attached letter will give you further information about the website and
program we are using as the children will be able to access this from
home. If you require more details, there is a parental section on the
website homepage.
As the weather is often inclement at this time of the year, the
children will need to bring in joggers or tracksuit bottoms and a warm
top for our outdoor P.E. lessons. They can also bring trainers for
these lessons. Can we also remind you that earrings should not be
worn for P.E. and should be removed, preferably before the children
come to school.
It’s been very pleasing to see so many children collecting their
reading stars. Some of them are very close to receiving their red stars
– well done to them! Please encourage your child to read at least
three times a week. If they read by themselves, they can sign their
book.
As always, please come and see us if you have any concerns about your child.
With best wishes,
Jackie
