Big thanks go to Mrs Cathy Davis, seen here with Bob in the photograph, who helped all morning supervising the children and building the sculpture. Cathy is on the Friends committee. Special mention to Mrs Sarah Smith, a teaching assistant and Friends member who also worked hard to make this day a real success! |
The pictures below are the completed sculpture of the squirrel made out of willow. In order for us to see the squirrel shape clearly we would need to have an aerial view of it. This photograph is the nearest we could get to it standing on the roof of the school building!
When Bob returns to our school to work on our pond area, he will bring some log seats that we will put inside the middle of the squirrel shape, so that the children will be able to sit down and relax with their friends. The tail is like a long winding tunnel, where the children will enter and exit.
We are very proud of our squirrel sculpture, and we thank Bob so much for showing us how to do it, and spending so much of his time with us on this wonderful day!
