OUR WILLOW
DAY WITH BOB GREEN
FROM BISHOP’S WOOD 2nd MARCH 2007
In
the above two pictures are the reception and year 2 children making a
start.
Thank goodness the weather was good!
On Friday 2nd March Bob
Green arrived
from Bishop’s Wood Centre to help us build a willow sculpture
on the edge of
our school field. Bob asked us what shape we would like the sculpture
to be,
and we said a squirrel, which is part of our school logo. After much
head
scratching Bob and the children designed the shape and then set to work
bending
the willow as part of the sculpture. This is part of the
Friend’s ongoing
project to enhance the outside areas. Six children from each class
helped Bob
to bend the willow to create the sculpture.
Here
are the children building the tail of the squirrel, this is going to be
the
tunnel.
